On the first day of Christmas, we surprise a very familiar face

Watch as we surprise this ‘kind and caring soul’ by checking off every item on his holiday wish list

Chris Carr has become a household name in our community, spending his free time volunteering with countless sports teams and local charities in Sault Ste. Marie.

He is described as a kind and caring soul, always stepping up to selflessly help others without looking for any recognition in return.

His community involvement varies from volunteering with the Soo Thunderbirds, Algoma University Athletics and the Soo Greyhounds, to helping with the St. Mary’s College football teams.

Those who know of his hard work and dedication wrote to SooToday to share how much of an integral role he plays and how appreciated he is in our community.

Recently, Chris’ mother passed away and he was hoping to spend the holidays with his family in Calgary. To thank him for his years of supporting Sault Ste. Marie, our friends at Algoma Steel provided gifts that will help him make that dream possible and enjoy an unforgettable Christmas with his loved ones.

Watch as we surprise Chris during an assembly at St. Mary’s College!

A sincere thank you to Algoma Steel for making this Random Act of Kindness possible.
