Woman allegedly breaches release conditions

GOULAIS RIVER – On May 16, 2020, at approximately 9:35 p.m., members of the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a dispute in Goulais River. 

Police arrived at the scene and found that one of the involved parties was in breach of their release conditions. 

As a result of the investigation, Melissa Vowels, 33 years-of-age, from Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:  

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).  

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 20, 2020, in Sault Ste. Marie.
