TWO SEPARATE CRASHES SENDS FOUR PEOPLE TO HOSPITAL

Montreal River, Ont., A single vehicle collision yesterday sent the two occupants of a car to hospital with minor injuries.

At about 6:30 p.m. last night a small car was northbound on Hwy 17 just south of Montreal River. The driver advised police that he lost control of his vehicle in heavy rain and skidded into the ditch. The vehicle hit several boulders and the car rolled over twice coming to rest on its roof.

A thirty two year old man and a twenty five year old woman from Liverpool, Nova Scotia were transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. No charges were laid in this collision.

Heyden, Ont., Last night at about 8:00 p.m. officers with the Sault Ste Marie Detachment were called to a single vehicle collision near the top of the mile hill just past Beaumont Trailer park in Heyden.

A car was northbound on Hwy 17 when the car hit a moose that was crossing the highway. The two occupants of the car were transported to Sault and Area Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The vehicle was heavily damaged and had to be towed from the scene. The two occupants have been identified as Charles and Irene Robinson of Harmony Beach, north of Sault Ste Marie. No charges were laid in this investigation
