CRASH ON NORTH HIGHWAY LANDS TWO IN HOSPITAL

(Mamainse Harbour, Ont.) A single vehicle crash yesterday afternoon on Hwy 17 north near Mamainse Harbour sent the two occupants of the vehicle to hospital.

Yesterday at about 3:30 p.m. a car was northbound on Hwy 17 just south of Mamainse Harbour. The driver advised police that a gust of wind off Lake Superior caused the vehicle to partially leave the roadway onto the paved shoulder. The driver attempted to return to the paved portion but lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle slid across the highway and into the southbound ditch.

Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Sault Area Hospital by ambulance. They are being treated for non life threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
