JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY THE SAULT AND AREA IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE

Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

Here is another reason why most of us at the Sault Ste Marie OPP love living and working in this area.

Yesterday the entire area surrounding Sault Ste Marie saw road closures, collisions and vehicles in the ditches all due to freezing rain and poor weather conditions. Highways north and east were closed for periods of time due to thick coatings of freezing rain.

Sault Ste Marie OPP are happy to report that the bulk of the freezing rain did not affect any of the highways in our area. We received no reports of any collisions, vehicles in the ditches or problems with any sections of the area highways. Lets hope our luck continues over the next couple of days.

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO “HMMMM??”

Laird Twp, Ont.,

A Laird Township family had an unusual experience happen at their home yesterday evening.

Yesterday at about 6:00 p.m. the family was sitting down to dinner when they heard what was described as two “ticks” on the front door. Moments later the glass pane on the door shattered. The window was approximately 6 feet high by 3 feet wide.

Police were called to the scene by there was nothing at the scene to help suggest exactly what may have caused the window to shatter. There is some suggestion that the damage may have been deliberately caused by a pellet gun but no pellets could be located. The house is located on Pumpkin Point Road in Laird Twp.
