(Laird Twp., ON) – A residence in the 100 block of Finn’s Bay Road was reported broken into. The break in took place on Monday, 16th November 2009.

Stolen items include a large flat screen TV, laptop computer, jewellery, and a quantity of cash.

A small gold coloured car was seen in the yard of the residence that day.

YOUTH ARRESTED FOR BREAK IN

(Aweres Twp., ON) – A residence on Country Lane in Aweres Township had a bike stolen from an outside shed the evening of the 16th November, 2009.

OPP officer’s on patrol the next day observed a male riding the bike that had been reported stolen.

A 17 year old youth was arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property, and Breach of Recognizance.

VEHICLES ENTERED

(Thessalon, ON.) – Members of the East Algoma Thessalon OPP have received a few complaints over the last week regarding vehicles being entered and personal belongings being rifled through. In one instance the suspect was observed and fled when approached by the owner.

The OPP remind vehicle owners to lock your vehicle at night, even if it is in your driveway.

DEATH OF MANITOULIN WOMAN DEEDED NOT TO BE SUSPICIOUS

(Providence Bay, Ont.) – On Sunday 15 November 2009 late afternoon Officers of the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police were notified of a deceased woman near Providence Bay. Police attended a wooded area adjacent to Blue Road in Carnarvon Township near the community of Providence Bay.

Police attended the scene and located a 47 year old woman who was deceased. The coroner was called who pronounced death. A post mortem examination took place on Monday 16 Nov 09 in Sudbury the cause of death has been determined not to be suspicious and police have ruled out foul play in this investigation. The woman’s name is not being released at this time due to complications in the notification of next of kin.

Manitoulin OPP are completing the investigation of this sudden death which was done with the assistance of the Northeast Regional OPP Crime Unit under the direction of Inspector Mark Pritchard of the Criminal Investigations Branch at our General Headquarters In Orillia.
