VEHICLE STOP RESULTS IN DRUG SIEZURE (WAWA, ON) – On May 18, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Officers had opportunity to stop a vehicle on Highway 17 in the Menzies Township near the Town of Wawa.

VEHICLE STOP RESULTS IN DRUG SIEZURE

(WAWA, ON) – On May 18, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Officers had opportunity to stop a vehicle on Highway 17 in the Menzies Township near the Town of Wawa.  As a result the driver of the vehicle was found to have had his driver’s license suspended due to unpaid fines.  OPP searched the vehicle and found a quantity of marihuana.  The driver, 26 year old Beau BRUDER of Scarborough, Ontario was charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario for driving while licence suspended.  He is scheduled to appear in Wawa Provincial Offences Court on July 19, 2012.

BRUDER and the vehicle passenger, 25 year old Daniel CALDERONE of King City, Ontario were both charged with Possession of Marihuana over 30 grams.  They are to appear in Wawa Criminal Court on July 16, 2012 to answer to this charge.

BREAK AND ENTER TO LOCAL BUSINESS

(WAWA, ON) – A witness contacted the OPP Superior East Wawa Detachment on May 21, 2012 to report a possible break and enter to Mona’s Kitchen on Broadway Avenue in Wawa.  The witness observed a person moving around inside the business when it should be have been closed.  The owners confirmed the break in and advised OPP that an undisclosed amount of money had been stolen.  Anyone with any information is requested to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

TRAFFIC STOP NETS CHARGES FOR LOCAL FEMAILE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at approximately 2:08 p.m. officers of the East Algoma OPP conducted a traffic stop on Esten Drive South in Elliot Lake. Through investigation a small of amount of cocaine and oxycontin was located with the passenger.  

Charged with the following is Jennifer STUBBERT (31) of Elliot Lake.

  •         Possession of Cocaine
  •         Possession of other drugs - oxycontin

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on June 3, 2012.

TV TAKEN DURING BREAK AND ENTER

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a break, enter and theft at a residence on Hillside Drive North in Elliot Lake.

May 20, 2012 at approximately 2:20 a.m. police received a call to attend an apartment at 107 Hillside Drive North regarding a break and enter.  On scene police learned that the owner had left his residence at approximately 8:00 p.m. on May 19, 2012 and upon his return at 2:20 a.m. noted his apartment had been broken into and his 43” Samsung TV was missing.
