FATAL COLLISION

(Perry Twp) On Tuesday the 13th of May 2008 at approximately 7:30 pm, Almaguin Highlands OPP attended Bartlett Lake Rd. In Perry Township regarding a single vehicle collision. A 1995 Dodge cargo van was westbound on Bartlett Lake Rd, lost control, entered the south ditch and rolled coming to rest on its roof. The vehicle driver Mr. Antti J KYTOLA, 54 Years old of Bradford Ontario suffered minor injuries as a result of this collision and was transported to the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Mr. Topi LATVA 71 yrs old of Scarborough Ontario suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

This ongoing investigation is under the direction of Constable M Carlson of the Almaguin Highlands OPP.

TWO MORE BREAK AND ENTER’S REPORTED

(Hodgins Twp., Ont.) Ontario Provincial Police are investigating two more break and enter’s to seasonal residences located in the 400 block of Highway 532 in Searchmont. The break in’s occurred within the last week.

A 10,000 watt generator, six solar panels and a double ended axe were stolen.

Garden River First Nation, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 638 just east of the Junction of Highway 17 and 638.

The driver of an eastbound SUV rolled over into the northbound ditch. There were minor injuries to the male driver and the vehicle had to be towed. No charges were laid.

MISCHIEF TO LOCAL BUSINESS

(Thessalon, Ontario) On Sunday May 11, 2008 the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were contacted regarding a mischief to a local business on Main Street, Thessalon, Ontario.

Suspects attempted to enter the building via the back door. Entry was not gained but damage was sustained to the rear door and surrounding siding.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE

(Thessalon, Ontario) On Friday May 9, 2008 at approximately 7:40 p.m. the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Ingram Road, east of Thessalon, Ontario.

Investigation revealed that a Black Ford Bronco had been traveling eastbound on Ingram Road when it left the roadway on the south side and rolled over.

The driver Jason Lee PARKER (24) of Thessalon, Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

Impaired Driving – Motor Vehicle, Section 253(a)
Over 80 mgs – Operate Motor Vehicle, Section 253(b)

PARKER was released on a Promise to Appear in Thessalon court on June 26, 2008.
