Motorists Find It Difficult To Stay Out Of Ditches

Mother always said, on those days when the weather was foul, that it was a good day to stay home. Some local motorist braved the latest salvos of a dying winter and wish they had heeded mothers caution. Between 2:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. yesterday eleven motorists traversing Highway 17, east of Sault Ste. Marie, found it impossible to keep their vehicles between the ditches. High winds and, at times, zero visibility all contributed to motorists taking unwanted paths off the roadway. No injuries of consequence were reported and all involved will have an opportunity to face such weather conditions again. Alas, some of those vehicles will never be as pretty as they once were.
