MOTOR VEHICLES ENTERED OVERNIGHT (Blind River, Ontario) On June 29, 2007 the East Algoma – Blind River OPP were contacted regarding five motor vehicles being entered overnight.

(Blind River, Ontario) On June 29, 2007 the East Algoma – Blind River OPP were contacted regarding five motor vehicles being entered overnight.

Suspects entered the motor vehicles, removing loose change and one ownership.

The OPP want to remind owners to secure their motor vehicle, wherever it is parked.

DRUGS LOCATED, ONE MALE CHARGED

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On July 1, 2007, members of the East Algoma – Elliot Lake Detachment located a male who was under the influence of alcohol at the Centennial Arena.

The male, Marc Dany LABBE (27) of Elliot Lake, Ontario was subsequently charged with:

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana, Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and,
Intoxicated in a Public Place, Section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act

LABBE is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake Court on August 7, 2007.

FIRE STARTED IN GARBAGE BIN

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On July 1, 2007 at approximately 9:30 pm, the East Algoma – Elliot Lake Detachment were alerted to a fire in a garbage bin located behind the Elliot Lake Secondary School on Mississauga Avenue, Elliot Lake, Ontario.

Suspects filled the garbage bin with paper and plywood, lighting it on fire.

Damage was contained to the garbage bin.

MISCHIEF TO MOTOR VEHICLE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On Tuesday July 3, 2007 at approximately 4:20 pm the East Algoma – Elliot Lake OPP were advised of a mischief to a motor vehicle parked on Mississauga Avenue, Elliot Lake, Ontario.

Suspects damaged the driver’s side door lock.

The damage occurred sometime between Friday June 29 – Sunday July 1, 2007.

MOTORCYCLE DRIVER INJURED IN COLLISION

(Hwy 17, Day Township, Ontario) On Saturday June 30, 2007 at approximately 7:30 pm the East Algoma OPP were advised of a motorcycle collision on Highway 17 approximately 12 kilometres east of Thessalon, Ontario in Day Township.

A motorcycle that was traveling westbound on Highway 17 met a transport that was traveling eastbound on Highway 17. The two vehicles did not come into contact. As the westbound motorcycle was meeting the eastbound transport, the motorcycle moved toward the north shoulder, and then gradually went off onto the gravel shoulder, losing control.

The driver of the motorcycle, Darcy LEDREW (69) of Kitchener, Ontario was transported by ambulance to Thessalon Hospital and subsequently to the Sault Area Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario with serious injuries.

On July 1, 2007, LEDREW was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital.

LEDREW was driving a 2005 Black Harley Motorcycle.

THREE WHEELER ATV STOLEN

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On June 30, 2007 the East Algoma – Elliott Lake Detachment were contacted regarding a three wheeler being stolen from the back yard of an Ottawa Avenue home in Elliot Lake, Ontario.

The three wheeler is described as a 1983 Yellow Yamaha Y20 with Ontario Licence PP730.
