Break and Enters Reported Over Weekend A break and enter into a residence on Trout lake road occurred between the 26-28th of June. Stolen from the residence was a Lee Enfield 303 Rifle and a jar of coins. The rifle had been secured properly.

A break and enter into a residence on Trout lake road occurred between the 26-28th of June. Stolen from the residence was a Lee Enfield 303 Rifle and a jar of coins. The rifle had been secured properly.

Two recreational properties on James street in Fenwick Twp had unsuccessful attempts made to enter the properties. In one case a screen was damaged in a door and in the other a window was pried open. Nothing was taken in either of the occurrences

Near Head on with Cruiser Results in Charges

Two OPP cruisers were forced to the shoulder of the road on Hwy# 638 MacDonald Twp. at 9:00 p.m. on the 30th of June. Charged with Criminal Code offences of Drive while Disqualified, Dangerous Operation of a vehicle and Breach of probation is Jason Tyler Rydall age 20 of 317 Wellington St Apt 2 Sault Ste Marie. Rydall who had been drinking was also issued a 12 hour suspension.

Weekend Traffic Blitz Result in Numerous Charges

Sault Ste Marie Traffic and Marine officers combined with Sault Ste Marie Detachment officers laid 207 provincial offences act charges over the holiday weekend. The vast majority of charges were for speeding but Seat Belt violations , rules of the Road violations, liquor license act charges as well as marine safety charges were also laid. R.I.D.E. was conducted in numerous locations all over the Sault Ste Marie Patrol area and while no impaired drivers were discovered 6 12 hour suspensions were issued. A 22 year old Sault Ste Marie resident was charged under the Stunt Driving legislation for driving 143 km/hr in a 90 km/hr zone. The driver who had been drinking was also issued a 12 hours suspension. This speed and alcohol combined we were lucky that a tragedy did not occur. Officers investigated 2 minor injury and 1 property damage motor vehicle crashes over the long weekend.
