THIRD ARREST IN ARMED HOME INVASION ROBBERY
Manitowaning, Ont.
A third suspect in the home invasion robbery was arrested yesterday. The suspect had been sought by police since the time of the robbery and was finally apprehended in Naughton, Ontario due to a tip from the public.

Michael R. TRUDEAU age 21 of the Wikwemikong First Nation has been arrested and charged with the following offences, 2 counts of Robbery with a Weapon, 2 counts of Forcible Confinement, 1 count of Disguise with Intent, 1 count with Assault with a weapon, Break, Enter a Dwelling House with the Intent to Commit an Indictable Offense, Possession of Weapon obtained by crime, Point a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, 1 count of Breach of Probation, and 2 counts of Robbery with a Firearm. He has been remanded in custody and will be appearing at a bail hearing on Wednesday 07 Jan at 11:00 am in Wikwemikong Bail court.

The arrests are the result of the investigation into the home invasion robbery that occurred at a residence in Manitowaning on the 4th of December, 2003. The joint investigation also revealed that this robbery is allegedly linked to a second robbery, which occurred at Patsy’s Family Restaurant in Wikwemikong on the 22nd of November 2003.

Also charged with 2 counts of Robbery with a Weapon, 2 counts of Forcible Confinement, 1 count of Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offense, 1 count of Assault with a weapon, and 2 counts of Robbery with a Firearm is Terry BARNHART age 23 of the Wikwemikong First Nation. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Wikwemikong Criminal Court on the 13 Jan 2004.

Charged with 2 counts of Robbery with a Weapon, 2 counts of Forcible Confinement, 1 count of Disguise with Intent, 1 count with Assault with a weapon, Break, Enter a Dwelling House with the Intent to Commit an Indictable Offense, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, 1 count of Breach of Probation, 2 counts of Breach of Recognizance, and 2 counts of Robbery with a Firearm is Johnatan BEAUDRY age 21 of Wikwemikong First Nation. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Wikwemikong Criminal Court on Wednesday 07 Jan 2004.


QUIET TUESDAY NIGHT IN SAULT
The Sault detachment of the O.P.P. responded to several minor accidents overnight. All were attributed to the weather. There were no injuries or heavy property damage.


BREAK & ENTERS
Mississauga First Nation
Sometime near late November a resident of Old Dump Road on Mississauga First Nation had his trailer broken into. The person had been living in the trailer and discovered that the thieves had stolen a lantern. Police have no suspects.


IRON BRIDGE
In December a shed belonging to Mississaugi Power Co. was broken into and some maintenance items were stolen. The thieves mad off with a shovel, axe, broom, fire extinguisher and a length of rope. Police have no suspects in the case.


THESSALON
On the 30 Dec. a person discovered several items missing from his shed at his camp located on Bridgeland Lake. The door to the shed had been forced open and several items stolen. Missing were several gas cans, a chainsaw and a portable generator. Value of the items was in excess of $3000. Investigation has yielded no suspects but indications are the thieves used a vehicle to removed the items and left in an easterly direction.
