BATCHAWANA WOMAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING
Harmony Beach, Ont.,

A Batchawana woman was arrested and charged with impaired driving after the vehicle she was driving went into the ditch on Hwy 17 near Harmony Beach.

On Monday night, at about 2:00 a.m. Sault Ste Marie OPP responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch near the north entrance to Harmony Beach. Officers arrived at the scene and discovered that the woman operating the vehicle had been drinking.

Breathalyzer tests revealed that the woman was over the legal limit. She was charged with impaired driving and her driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.

Fifty three year old Audrey Rowan, of Batchawana Ontario, will appear in court in early February 2002 to answer to the charges.
