Update: Investigation Continues

Heyden, Ont., Sault Ste Marie OPP are continuing their investigation into a collision between a train and a pick up truck earlier today in Heyden, just north of Sault Ste Marie.

The driver of the pick up truck, forty year old Kevin McCAIG, of Sault Ste Marie remains in Sault and Area Hospital this afternoon with what is described as non- life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and no decision on any charges has been made. Further details will be released tomorrow morning.

Truck/Train Collision

Heyden, Ont.,One man has been taken to Sault and Area Hospital by ambulance this morning after a collision involving a train and a pick up truck in Heyden, just north of Sault Ste Marie.

At about 10:00 a.m. this morning officers from Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment, as well as Sault Ste Marie Ambulance and the Aweres Township Fire Department were dispatched to the collision. The crash is at level crossing at the intersection of Hwy 552 and Hwy 556 in Heyden. A preliminary report from the scene indicates that the driver of the pick up truck has non- life threatening injuries.

Officers are on the scene at this time and the collision remains under investigation. Any further updates will be sent out as they become available.

Theft At Curling Club

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is investigating a theft report at the local curling club. On February 12th, 2005 unknown person(s) attended the locker area and stole a Kodak Digital camera and cash from a locked locker.
