Three Crashes In Yesterday's Storm

The snowstorm that blew threw the Sault Ste Marie area yesterday resulted in three crashes on our area highways.

At about 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning a snowplow was stopped on Hwy 17 near Mamainse Harbour. A southbound pick up truck, traveling in the same direction as the plow, drove into the back of the snowplow.

Around 9:30 a.m. a vehicle was traveling west on Hwy 17 near Calabogie Road in Laird Twp, east of Echo Bay. The driver lost control of the vehicle and the car rolled over into the ditch.

A third crash happened on Goulais Mission Road when a driver tried to avoid an object on the roadway. In this crash the driver lost control of the SUV they were driving and it rolled over in the ditch.

The drivers in all three of these collisions were wearing seat belts so no one was injured. All three vehicles had to be towed away.
