ABANDONED PUPPIES - OPP LAY CRIMINAL CHARGE (WAWA, ON) – On March 30th, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment received a formal complaint regarding the two abandoned puppies found on the Firesand Road on March 25th.

(WAWA, ON) – On March 30th, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Wawa Detachment received a formal complaint regarding the two abandoned puppies found on the Firesand Road on March 25th.

As result of the investigation a summons has been issued for 41 year old Gino BELANGER of Wawa for Cruelty to Animals under the Criminal Code of Canada.

RIDE CHECK LEADS TO DRUG CHARGE

(Macdonald Twp., ON)At approximately 4:50 pm yesterday afternoon OPP were conducting RIDE spot checks on Highway 17B.

A pick up truck approached the RIDE check and as the OPP officer was speaking to the driver a strong odour of Cannabis was detected coming from the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed a small quantity of Marihuana and Cannabis Resin in the vehicle.

Forty-eight year old Norman Garret PARSLOW of Innisfail Alberta was arrested and charged for Possession of Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

The accused was released on a Recognizance to appear in Provincial Court in Sault Ste. Marie on May 14, 2012.

STOLEN SNOWMOBILE

(Gaudette Twp., ON) -   Sometime between April 2nd and April 3rd 2012 a 1982 Ski-Doo Citation was stolen from the yard of a residence in the 100 block of Station Road in Gaudette Township.

The snowmobile was black in colour with a stainless steel tow hitch.

OPP LAY SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

(CHAPLEAU, ON)  – On March 25th, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police Superior East Chapleau Detachment received information regarding a sexual assault.

Through police investigation it was learned that during the evening prior the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted two victims.

As a result a 35 year old local male stands charged with two counts of Sexual Assault.  The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victims.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Chapleau Criminal Court May 16th, 2012.
