Attempt Break-In to Senior’s Apartment (Blind River, ON.) – On the 21 Apr.09 a resident of a local apartment building was awakened by a noise at her window. It appears as though some brave person was attempting to break in to the apartment.

(Blind River, ON.) – On the 21 Apr.09 a resident of a local apartment building was awakened by a noise at her window. It appears as though some brave person was attempting to break in to the apartment. No entry was gained but the resident was afraid to go back to sleep and reported the incident in the morning.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS (8477) .

Police are also asking that anyone seeing anyone suspicious lurking in their neighbourhood to call Police and report it so that preventative action can be taken.

SUSPECTS ATTEMPT TO ENTER RESIDENCE

(Thessalon, ON.) – On April 21, 2009 at approximately 9:00 a.m. the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment received a report of an attempt Break and Enter to a residence on Water Street, Thessalon, Ontario.

Suspects broke the back patio door as they attempted to gain entry.

The attempted Break and Enter occurred sometime between 11:30 p.m. on April 20, 2009 and 9:00 a.m. on April 21, 2009.

The residents were at home during the attempt.

SHOPPING CART CAUSED DAMAGE TO A PARKED VEHICLE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating damage to a vehicle by a shopping cart.

The victim reports that sometime on April 20, 2009 between 2:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. someone pushed a cart from the mall entrance on Ontario Avenue into the lower parking lot making contact with her vehicle which was parked in the lower parking area below city hall.

BREAK and ENTER AT LOCAL PHARMACY

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) On Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 1:41 a.m. officers responded to an alarm on Prince Edward Walk in Elliot Lake.

On scene police noted that a front window glass located to the immediate left of the front door of the pharmacy had been smashed. Officers entered the premises and no one was located. A quick check by the owner and the officers did not reveal anything missing. All serious narcotics are locked away and were not taken.

The victim will be conducting a complete inventory.

TRAFFIC STOPS LEADS TO SEVERAL CHARGES

(Blind River, Ontario) While on general patrol, on April 17, 2009 at approximately 5:39 p.m. police observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Highway 17. Police stopped the vehicle and through further investigation, the driver was charged.

Charged with the following is Allan LEUNG (24) of Scarborough, Ontario.

Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose
Possession of Cannabis – under 30 grams
Possession for the Purpose

LEUNG is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on August 6, 2009.
