JOHNSON TOWNSHIP – On May 1, 2020 at approximately 1:06 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Cora Drive within Johnson Township.
Investigation determined, a vehicle was travelling westbound on Highway 17, struck the shoulder, crossed the highway, entered the ditch and struck a fence.
The 37-year-old driver from Sault Ste .Marie was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with:
- Careless Driving, contrary to section 130(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
