Vehicle fire slows traffic on Hwy. 17 near Thessalon

A vehicle fire on Highway 17 near Thessalon this evening has resulted in a slowdown for travellers east of the Sault.

One lane and the westbound shoulder were closed as emergency crews responded, according to the Ontario511 traffic info service.

A SooToday reader said firefighters were at the scene near Nestorville, just west of Thessalon, at around 6:45 p.m., and at that time no cars were moving.

It's not clear if anyone was injured, the reader said.
