POLICE WARN OF EMAIL SCAMS

(Blind River, ON.) Police want to warn the public to be wary of email scams. An area resident received an email from someone stating they were an American soldier in need of help. The email goes on to say that while he was performing a rescue operation he located 8 million dollars in barrels near a palace. He then tells you to contact him via email to make arrangements to get the money out. Once you contact him he will tell you to send a money order or cash to assist him in the transportation of the millions. You will be promised a large sum of money in return but you will never see it. Once you send him your money he may tell you to send more. You will never see any money from him or your money again. He will suddenly stop contacting you.

Be aware that these are scams and do not reply to emails or letters of this nature.
