UPDATE - OPP ARREST TWO MALES (Elliot Lake, Ont.) On todays date at approximately 7:45 a.m. police received a call to attend a residence on Hutchison Avenue regarding a possible assault.
UPDATE - OPP ARREST TWO MALES

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On todays date at approximately 7:45 a.m. police received a call to attend a residence on Hutchison Avenue regarding a possible assault.

Police attended the residence and investigation revealed that the suspects had entered the home and allegedly assaulted two people. The victims knew the suspects.

Charged with Assault and Break Enter is Gray William LATVANEN (35) of Sault Ste Marie. LATVANEN remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on October 22, 2008.

Also charged with the following is John Robin PERDUE (45) of Elliot Lake.

PERDUE remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on October 22, 2008.

Also arrested was a 33-year-old female on an outstanding warrant from Sault Ste Marie Police.



LOCAL CHURCH VICTIM OF THEFT

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake is currently investigating a break and enter at a local church on Mississauga Avenue.

Police learned that unknown person(s) entered the church by forcing doors open. This break enter and theft occurred sometime between October 10th, 2008 at 9:00 p.m. and October 12th, 2008 8:00 a.m.

Once incident the culprits stole musical equipment. Musical equipment taken is valued at approximately $1400.00.

DELIVERY TRUCK SPRAY PAINTED

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) Police are currently investigating the mischief to a truck.

Investigation revealed that sometime between October 14th, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. and October 16th, 2008 at 4:30 a.m. unknown persons spray painted words on the box, the passenger door and the grill area of a Weston/Wonderbread delivery truck. The truck was parked at 50 Esten Drive South.
