BREAK AND ENTER IN SEARCHMONT
Searchmont, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to Blais Rd. in Searchmont after a resident discovered his house had been illegally entered.

Sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning persons unknown entered the house by the front door. As of this time, the owner of the house is unable to determine what has been stolen.

A Goulais River man's truck ended up in the ditch off Hwy 17 last night after swerving to miss a loose dog.

At about 8:00 p.m. last night, the man was northbound on Hwy 17 near the intersection of Hwy 556 when he saw the animal walking on the highway in his lane. He slammed on the brakes to miss the dog and swerved into the southbound lanes on Hwy 17.

The vehicle eventually ended up in the ditch and police had to call a tow tuck to get it out. No one was hurt but the truck did have significant damage.
