THEFT OF DIESEL AND GAS FROM LODGE

(CHAPLEAU, ON.) – On May 20, 2011 at 5:25 pm Superior East OPP in Chapleau were dispatched to a reported theft of diesel and unleaded gas which occurred at a lodge on Esher-Healey Road in Strathearn Township just west of Chapleau. The Lodge owners report that the two tanks were filled in October 2010 and they left the camp in November 2010 for the Winter. Upon return it was discovered that person(s) unknown had removed the fuel from both tanks. Value of the fuel and minor damage to the tanks is estimated at approximately $5000.00. Police are requesting the public’s assistance in solving this theft. Anyone with knowledge of this incident is asked to call The OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

(SUPERIOR EAST OPP) – The OPP conducted several Marine patrols and RIDE checks throughout the patrol area with no major incidents being reported.
