It’s Police Week in Ontario and to celebrate the week Station Mall will be filled displays from various police services and other assorted agencies to help celebrate the week.

From Tuesday 15 May to Thursday 17 May 2007 the Ontario Provincial Police and other agencies will have displays at Station Mall in Sault Ste Marie. Come on down to Station Mall and browse the displays. Officers will be on hand to demonstrate various police equipment and to answer questions.

STEALING GAS NETS NUMEROUS CHARGES

(Hwy 17, Bruce Mines, Ontario) On Friday May 11, 2007 at approximately 12:45 a.m. the East Algoma OPP received a complaint regarding a theft of gas from a Sault Ste. Marie gas station.

A member of the East Algoma – Thessalon OPP observed an eastbound van on Highway 17, Bruce Mines, Ontario matching the description. The van was stopped and four occupants were charged. During the traffic stop it was also determined that the van had been stolen.

Byron TRUDEAU (19) of “No Fixed Address” has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
Possession of Stolen Property, Section 355(b) and
Theft, Section 334(b)

TRUDEAU is scheduled to appear in Sault Ste. Marie Court today.

Chantelle SPOON (18) of Azilda, Ontario has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
Possession of Stolen Property, Section 355(b)

SPOON was released on a Promise To Appear in Thessalon Court on June 28, 2007.

Two Young Persons have also been charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Probation. Both are scheduled to appear in Bail Court on May 15, 2007. The two young persons cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
