THEFT OF CELL PHONE (CHAPLEAU, ON.) – On March 28, 2011 Superior East OPP in Chapleau investigated a theft of a cell phone at a cell phone at a residence on Aberdeen Street.

(CHAPLEAU, ON.) – On March 28, 2011 Superior East OPP in Chapleau investigated a theft of a cell phone at a cell phone at a residence on Aberdeen Street. Investigation revealed that a young male had attended the residence earlier in the day and allegedly removed a cell phone from the residence. Police located the youth later and found the cell phone to be in his possession. As a result a 14 year old Chapleau male has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 as well as Possess Property Obtained by Crime. He will appear in Chapleau Youth Court at a later date to answer to the charges.

SUSPENDED DRIVER CHARGED
(WAWA, ON.) – On March 28, 2011 at approximately 9:40 am Superior East OPP in Wawa had occasion to stop a 2001 Jeep on McKinley Street for a Highway Traffic Act Infraction. A subsequent check revealed that the female driver was allegedly operating the vehicle while her Ontario Driver’s Licence was under suspension. As a result 22-year-old Paulina Makowski of North Grenville, Ontario stands charge with “Drive While Under Suspension” contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. She will appear in Wawa Traffic Court at a later date.

THREE DAY DRIVER’S LICENCE SUSPENSION
(WAWA, ON.) – On March 28, 2011 at 9:59 pm Superior East OPP in Wawa observed a 2001 Chevrolet Venture white in colour fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of McKinley and Ganley Street. The vehicle was stopped and while speaking to the female driver an odour of an alcoholic beverage was allegedly detected on her breath. A roadside test resulted in a “Fail” and she was subsequently arrested and taken for further breath tests. As a result of readings obtained she was issued a three day driver’s licence suspension. Thirty-year-old Saya Horeck of Elliot Lake, Ontario also stands charged with “Disobey Stop Sign” and “Fail to Notify Change of Address” contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
