CRIMINAL HARASSMENT CHARGES FOR LOCAL FEMALE (Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On the 25 th of May 2012 at approximately 10:41 a.m. the East Algoma OPP attended a residence on Taylor Boulevard regarding a neighbour dispute.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT CHARGES FOR LOCAL FEMALE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – On the 25th of May 2012 at approximately 10:41 a.m. the East Algoma OPP attended a residence on Taylor Boulevard regarding a neighbour dispute.

Investigation revealed that allegedly the suspect had been harassing their neighbour.  Police investigated all complaints and spoke with both neighbours. 

On May 30th, 2012 the suspect was located and charged. Charged with Criminal Harassment is Rhonda HOLMAN (62) of Elliot Lake.

The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

NAVY LEAGUE BREAK IN

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – Saturday, May 26, 2012 the East Algoma OPP received information regarding the Navy League Building located at 10 Lakeshore Rd in Elliot Lake.

On scene, police learned from the complainant that between 9:00 p.m. May 25, 2012 and 9:00 a.m. May 26, 2012 someone broke into the building and caused damage.  The suspect(s) smashed a front facing door window and entered the building.  While in the building the office was searched, a stack of plates was smashed in the kitchen area, damaged was done in the work room area and the rest of the building, inside and out.  Culprit(s) also cause damage to tents that had been erected for an upcoming event.

A suspect was arrested and charged.

Charged with the following is Jacob MOORE (20) of Elliot Lake. 

            Break and Enter

            Mischief Under $5,000

            Possession of Incendiary Material

The accused remains in custody on unrelated matters.

CONFRONTATION LEADS TO ONE BEING CHARGED

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 8:20 p.m. on May 27th, 2012 from a male requesting assistance.

Police learned that the victim was on Scott Road in Elliot Lake when he was confronted by the suspect.  The victim remained in the vehicle while the suspect attempted to get the victim to exit the vehicle.  During the confrontation, allegedly the suspect cause damaged the victim’s vehicle by kicking and punching it.

Police attended the area and spoke with the victim.  A short time later the suspect was located by police and arrested.

Charged with Mischief under $5,000.00 is Sebastian FABRIS (19) of Elliot Lake.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on July 3, 2012.

TRAILER STOLEN

(Aweres Twp., ON) - OPP received a report of a theft of an 8 foot tent trailer that occurred within the past four days.

The theft took place at a cottage in the 700 block of Trout Lake Road.

The 8 foot Jayco Quest tent trailer is white in colour with an Ontario licence plate attached, B3791H and is valued at $6,000.

The trailer was also equipped with a canoe rack and a “Yakima” bike rack.

SPEEDING LEADS TO MULTIPLE CHARGES

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON)On June 5, 2012 at approximately 12:55 am an OPP Officer conducting radar observed a black Pontiac Sunfire travelling southbound on Great Northern Road at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was stopped and upon speaking to the male driver, signs of alcohol impairment were observed.

Further investigation revealed that the male was a prohibited driver and did not possess a valid driver’s licence.

Fifty-five year old William James NEIL of 38 Heidi Crescent, Aweres Township was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Driving a Motor Vehicle in excess of 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content, and Disqualified Driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at Provincial Court in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario today.

CAMP ENTERED

(Gaudette Twp., ON)Sometime within the past week a cottage on Highway 532 in the Searchmont area was broken into.

Culprit(s) damaged doors leading to the bunk house, storage shed and cookhouse.

Approximately 60 feet of copper tubing was removed from the cookhouse as well as copper tubing from the ground outside that was buried.
