BREAK ENTER AND THEFT….

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The OPP is currently investigating a Break Enter and Theft at a residence on Frame Crescent in Elliot Lake.

The victim reports that sometime between the early evening of June 20, 2008 and approximately 1:00 a.m. June 21, 2008 unknown person(s) entered the residence and removed several items. Items noted to be missing were an IPOD, cash and a Lap Top computer. A short time later the Lap Top was recovered completely destroyed.

Anyone with information regarding the above break enter and theft is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Investigation continuing.

ROAMING BEARS IN AWERES TOWNSHIP

(Aweres Twp., Ont.) Ontario Provincial Police responded to two bear complaints yesterday evening in the Trout Lake area of Aweres Township.

In one instance, the bruin caved in the lid of a 20 ft. garbage dumpster and knocked down a barbeque.

Both bears were gone upon Police arrival.

VEHICLES RANSACKED AND VALUABLES STOLEN

(Batchewana First Nation, Ont.) Three separate vehicle owners woke up yesterday morning to find that their vehicles had been ransacked and some items stolen from two of the vehicles.

The vehicles were parked on August Street, Gran Street, and Nebenaigoching Street.

Stolen items included a GPS, digital camera, and an MP3 player.

The OPP would like to remind motorists that a vehicle with an unlocked door or an open window is an easy target.

To protect your vehicle from theft always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors and pocket the keys when you park your car.

Park in a well-lit area and never leave valuables in plain view.
