SECURITY ALARM PAYS OFF! (Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP on June 18th, 2007 at approximately 12:00 p.m. attended a local store regarding a possible theft.

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP on June 18th, 2007 at approximately 12:00 p.m. attended a local store regarding a possible theft.

On scene police learned that the suspect allegedly had left the store setting of the security alarm.

Charged with Theft Under is Nathalie ST. JEAN (30) of Elliot Lake.

ST. JEAN is scheduled to attend court on August 7th, 2007.

THIEVES STEAL FROM TWELVE CARS IN ECHO BAY

(Echo Bay, Ont.,) While the hard working people of Echo Bay were asleep, thieves were all through their town working the night shift.

Sometime during the darkened hours of Sunday night and Monday morning thieves slithered all around the community stealing from cars and trucks. Residents of Echo Bay woke up on Monday morning to find vehicle all over town had been entered and various items stolen out of the vehicles.

Property owners on Church, Lake, Station, Birch, and Maple Streets reported their vehicles entered and property stolen. Most people advised police that the vehicle were left unlocked. In one case thieves pried open the window of one vehicle. It appears that cash and coins left in wallets and purses were the property of choice.

One victim reports three bikes stolen from their home. The bikes were located near the Echo Bay Bridge later in the day. A second victim reported a baseball bat stolen from his vehicle.

Did you hear or see three people riding bikes in Echo Bay on Sunday night or Monday morning? If you did—call.

DANGEROUS DRIVING

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The 14th of June 2007 at approximately 4:48 p.m. an officer was approached in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire in Elliot Lake regarding a possible dangerous driving complaint.

Police learned that a male allegedly attended the store and when leaving the parking lot area drove his vehicle in a dangerous matter almost hitting pedestrians and striking two flowerpots.

Charged with Dangerous Driving is Paul Wade BENOY (41) of Elliot Lake. BENOY is scheduled to appear in court on August 7th, 2007.

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE! IT’S AGAINST THE LAW!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On June 15th, 2007 the East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake received a complaint regarding a possible impaired driver.

Police located the driver. Charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 is Armand QUENNEVILLE (66) of Elliot Lake.

QUENNEVILLLE is scheduled to appear in court on August 7th, 2007.

MALE CHARGED AFTER STABBING INCIDENT

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Monday June 18th, 2007 the East Algoma OPP received a call regarding a possible stabbing. Investigation revealed that the victim had been stabbed during an argument with the suspect and was at the hospital receiving treatment. The injuries were determined to be non-life threatening. The incident occurred in the driveway of a residence on Hillside Drive South.

Police began their search of the suspect. The Emergency Response Team and the K-9 Unit were called to assist.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. police apprehended the suspect.

Charged with Aggravated Assault is Kyle Christopher STACK (23) of Elliot Lake.

STACK remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

STOLEN KAYAK FROM HONE LAKE AREA

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On June 11th, 2007 the East Algoma OPP received a call regarding a possible stolen kayak. Police learned that the kayak was taken sometime between Friday, June 8, 2007 and Monday, June 11, 2007 from Horne Lake in Elliot Lake. The missing kayak is described as a green in color 14.5 Necky.

(Thessalon, Ontario) Have you lost a set of keys? If so attend the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment, describe them and they will be returned to you.

POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY

(Thessalon, Ontario) On Friday June 8, 2007 members of the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment located an individual in the Town of Thessalon with stolen property.

Joseph Caleb BENNET (21) of Thessalon, Ontario was located carrying two stolen licence plates.

BENNET is charged under the Criminal Code with:

Possession of Stolen Property under $5000 (X2)
Breach of Probation

Bennett was arrested, attended Bail Court and is scheduled to appear in Thessalon Court on July 12, 2007.

THEFT OF MOUNTAIN BIKES

(Bruce Mines, Ontario) On June 11, 2007 the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment received a complaint of two mountain bikes being stolen from a residence located on Cunningham Street in Bruce Mines, Ontario.

The mountain bikes are described as:

Men’s White Mountain Bike - Schwinn 28 speed and
Men’s Yellow Mountain Bike – Schwinn 28 speed

THEFT OF MOTORS

(Skookum Lake, Galbraith Township, North of Bruce Mines, Ontario) On Thursday June 14, 2007 the East Algoma Thessalon OPP were contacted regarding thefts of boat motors from camps on Skookum Lake, north of Bruce Mines, Ontario.

Three motors have been stolen and they are described as:

1980 Johnson, 9.9 HP, two tone white in colour

Honda 15 HP and a,

Evinrude 3 HP
