POSSESS WEAPON DANGEROUS TO PUBLIC PEACE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – The East Algoma OPP has charged an 18-year-old male after receiving a weapon call.

On July 24, 2011 at approximately 8:15 p.m. police were dispatched to attend the BMX Park on Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake.

Witnesses reported that a male had allegedly produced a life like looking pistol and was gesturing with it. Through investigation it was learned that the weapon was a BB air gun.

Charged with Possession of a Weapon is Matthew HOLDEN (18) of Elliot Lake. The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on October 4, 2011.

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE

Elliot Lake, Ontario) – July 22, 2011 at approximately 8:06 p.m. the East Algoma OPP received a call regarding a vehicle collision with no injuries on Ompa Lake Road north of Elliot Lake.

Police attended and through investigation one driver was charged.

Charged with the following is Daniel WURSLUK (45) of Elliot Lake.

Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle
Exceed 80 Milligrams

The accused is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on September 6, 2011.

TRAFFIC STOP NETS SEVERAL CHARGES FOR LOCAL MALE

(Elliot Lake, Ontario) – While on general patrol, an officer of the East Algoma OPP noted a vehicle travelling at a visually high rate of speed on Highway 108 near Timber Road. The officer conducted a traffic stop and through investigation the driver was charged.

Charged with the following is Lance Donald LARIN (34) of Elliot Lake.

Fail to provide Breath Sample
Drive Disqualified
Obstruct/Resist Police
Breach of Probation
Personation with intent

The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
