BACKHOE DAMAGED (Blind River, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a mischief to a Back Hoe. Investigation revealed that sometime between July 21, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. and July 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.
BACKHOE DAMAGED

(Blind River, Ont.) The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a mischief to a Back Hoe. Investigation revealed that sometime between July 21, 2007 at 9:00 p.m. and July 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. unknown person(s) attended the Robb Road area and caused damaged to a backhoe by throwing a concrete block through a window. Damage is estimated to be approximately $1,000.00.

911 service has been restored to Kapuskasing

The OPP would like to advise a fibre optic cable has been cut near Timmins. This has affected telephone services along Hwy 11 between Kapuskasing to Timmins as well as South Porcupine, Gogama, and surrounding areas.

Affected communities are in the process of establishing emergency contact centres. Public will be notified of report in locations as they are identified. In the meantime, please attempt to call using cell phones if operational.

DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE! IT’S THE LAW!

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Friday, July 20th, 2007 between 9:38 a.m. and 10:13 a.m. the Ontario Provincial Police received complaints regarding a vehicle traveling on Highway 17 and Highway 108.

Police attending Highway 108 and the vehicle was located traveling northbound. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested driver.

Charged with the following is Kirk Dennis CHUMLEY (57) of Hamilton, Ontario.

Failure to Provide a Breath Sample

CHUMLEY is scheduled to appear in court on September 4th, 2007.

SQUEALING TIRES GETS MALE CHARGED

(Thessalon, Ont.) On Saturday, July 21st, 2007 at approximately 3:06 a.m. while on general patrol, officers attended a vehicle parked on Main Street in Thessalon after witnessing the driver squeal the tires of the vehicle.

Charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle Over 80 mgs is Dexter Grant KING (19) of Thessalon. KING is scheduled to appear in court on August 16th, 2007.

Man Injured While Dealing with Police

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) On Monday, July 23rd, 2007 at approximately 10:08 p.m Elliot Lake OPP responded to a call for service at a residence on Hutchison Avenue. Upon arrival a confrontation ensued requiring police to respond with a use of force option. As a result of the interaction with police the male subject was transported to hospital.

Due to the fact the male party sustained injury while dealing with police, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has been called and will be investigating. All further questions must be directed to the SIU at 1 416 622 2342.
