BRUNSWICK HOUSE MAN DIED FROM STABBING

(Brunswick House First Nation) – After receiving a 911 call shortly after 9 pm on Saturday, June 28th, 2008 officers from the Superior East Chapleau OPP Detachment and Ambulance responded to Brunswick House First Nation regarding a male that was located in a residence deceased. Deceased is Eli James TAYLOR, age 52, from Brunswick House First Nations. Police are treating this investigation as a homicide and the investigation is continuing.

The post mortem examination was completed on Monday June 30th, 2008 at the Sudbury General Hospital. The cause of death was as the result of a stabbing. Investigators continue to interview and collect forensic evidence from the scene. Acting Detective Inspector Rene Bazinet states, “I am pleased with the progress of the investigation as we move closer to solving this crime.”

The Nishnawbe-Aski Police requested the assistance of Ontario Provincial Police with this matter. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by members of the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Crime Unit, OPP Chapleau Detachment and North East Region Criminal Operations, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch Acting Detective Inspector Rene Bazinet.
