(Elliot Lake, Ont.) - Back in June of 2004 while conducting a seatbelt check, police arrested and charged Michael Clifford BAKER (26) of Elliot Lake with the following;

- use plate not authorized
- operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
- fail to war complete seat belt assembly
- drive motor vehicle, no licence.
On February 3, 2005 police, while on general patrol on Highway 108, stopped a vehicle. The driver readily admitted to not having a driver's licence or insurance. Further investigation revealed that the plates on the vehicle had been reported stolen from Ottawa and the validation sticker was not valid. Police arrested the driver.

Charged with the following is Michael Clifford BAKER (26) of Elliot Lake:

- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- use plate not authorized for vehicle
- use validation not furnished for vehicle
- operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- drive motor vehicle – no licence

BAKER is scheduled to appear in court on all charges March 8, 2005.
