TWO VEHICLE COLLISION AT THE GOULAIS BAILEY BRIDGE
Goulais River, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie O.P.P. were called to the bailey bridge on Old Goulais Bay Road in Goulais River after two vehicles collided at the bridge. A mini van was crossing the one-lane structure and as it left the bridge platform a second mini van was approaching.

Both vehicles attempted to slow for each other and slid on an icy section of the roadway. The two vehicles slid into each other causing moderate damage to both mini vans.

There were no injuries and no charges in this incident.

You know that winter is here for sure when the police start getting complaints about snow machine operators. Sault Ste Marie OPP have received complaints about snow machines traveling well over the speed limit on Old Mill Bay Road in Heyden.

Snow machines are restricted to a speed of 20 km/h on a roadway where the posted speed limit is 50 km/h or less. They are not allowed to exceed 50km/
