Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

(Hwy 17, Blind River) East Algoma (Blind River) OPP are currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred on 28 December 2009 at approximately 11:30 am on Hwy 17, approximately 3 kilometres east of the Town of Blind River. The collision involving 2 vehicles resulted in 3 persons being transported to the Blind River District Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries. A fourth person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Ronald BOREHAM (64 yrs) of the Municipality of North Shore, Ontario was killed when the vehicle he was operating was struck by an on-coming vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle had lost control on a partially snow covered roadway. Blind River Fire Department was required to extricate the deceased.

The driver of the other vehicle has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
