MALE CHARGED WITH BREAK/ ENTER/THEFT IN THE GOULAIS RIVER AREA

(Vankoughnet Twp., Ont.) As a result of an OPP investigation involving R.A.C.T. (Rural Agricultural Crime Team), Sault Ste. Marie Crime Unit and local detachment members, one male was arrested and charged with the rash of Break, Enter and Thefts in the Goulais River area during the last week of March, 2008.

This investigation would not have come to such a successful conclusion if it were not for the assistance of the public and tips received from local area residents. The reporting of suspicious activity to the Police was instrumental in solving these crimes.

Charged with two counts of Break/Enter and Theft, two counts of Theft over $5000.00 and one count of Public Mischief is Trevor MATTHEWS,19, of 425 Highway 552 Fenwick Township.

MATTHEWS was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of May 26, 2008.

Recovered stolen items included a 2005 Suzuki King Quad ATV, a 1998 Green Chevrolet pick up truck, a snow blower, and a gas powered washer.

BICYCLE STOLEN FROM RANKIN ARENA

(Batchewana First Nation, Ont.) A blue super cycle bicycle was taken from outside the Rankin Arena sometime yesterday afternoon.
