FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION

(Wawa) On September 16, 2009 members of the Wawa and White River OPP were dispatched to a 2 vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 8 kilometres north of Highway 17 in Dahl Township. Upon arrival it was learned that two vehicles had collided causing both vehicles to roll over. The driver of a southbound Pontiac Sunfire was pronounced deceased at the scene. One other male passenger in the Pontiac received non life threatening injuries. The two occupants of the northbound GMC Sierra pickup also received non life threatening injuries. The three males were transported to Lady Dunn Hospital in Wawa. The accident occurred at approximately 6 am.

Alexander Gorden DUFFITT age 46 of Fox Creek, Alberta was fatally injured as a result of this collision.

The driver of the northbound pickup truck has been charged with “Drive Left of Centre.”

Weather at the time of the accident was clear.
