MISSING SOMETHING? (FENWICK TWP., ON) A motorist traveling westbound on Highway 552 Tuesday afternoon spotted a gun case lying on the roadway. Further inspection revealed that there was a shotgun in the gun case.

(FENWICK TWP., ON) A motorist traveling westbound on Highway 552 Tuesday afternoon spotted a gun case lying on the roadway.

Further inspection revealed that there was a shotgun in the gun case.

The motorist turned it into the Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment.

Anyone with any information about who the owner may be is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.

DRIVER CHARGED IN INTERSECTION RELATED COLLISION

(MACDONALD TWP., ON) OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17B at Highway 638 in Echo Bay yesterday afternoon at 2:40 p.m.

A motorist travelling eastbound on Highway 17B was in a left turning lane then re-entered the thru lane striking another vehicle travelling eastbound.

There were no injuries.

Charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Change Lane – Not in Safety is 89 year old James Spurway of Desbarats, Ontario.

MOOSE COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 17 NORTH

(AWERES TWP., ON) OPP responded to a moose – vehicle collision at 7:45 p.m. yesterday evening on Highway 17 in Aweres Township.

An SUV travelling northbound struck a moose crossing east on the Highway.

The SUV was demolished. The female driver was not injured.

UPDATE


There is currently a detour in place available for all traffic via Hwy. 129 to Hwy 554 to Hwy 546.

Officials at the scene estimate that the road will be closed until approx. 2:00 pm.


(Thessalon, Ontario) – On Thursday November 13, 2008 at approximately 6:30 a.m. the East Algoma received a report of a Transport in the ditch east of Thessalon near Brownlee Road (Maple Ridge Hill). The transport is carrying Chemicals that are undetermined at this time.

The owners of the Transport Company are expected to be on site shortly.

As a result Highway 17 will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. At this time there is no detour.
