HAWK JUNCTION MALE ARRESTED WITHOUT INCIDENT (Wawa, Ontario) On Wednesday May 7, 2007, at approximately 4:00 pm, the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were notified of a male threatening suicide at a residence on Boucher Ave.
HAWK JUNCTION MALE ARRESTED WITHOUT INCIDENT

(Wawa, Ontario) On Wednesday May 7, 2007, at approximately 4:00 pm, the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were notified of a male threatening suicide at a residence on Boucher Ave. in Hawk Junction. The OPP Provincial Communications Center in North Bay made contact with the male by telephone and it was determined a firearm was involved in the incident. Members of the Wawa, White River and Chapleau OPP Detachments, with assistance from the Wawa Police Service contained the house and continued contact with the male. Some residents of Hawk Junction were contained in their residences for their own safety and a portion of Boucher Ave. was closed.

At approximately 6:05 pm OPP made entry into the residence and a male was apprehended without incident. A rifle and ammunition were recovered inside the house.

The male was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and is receiving treatment in a Sault Ste. Marie area hospital. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
