BREAK AND ENTER TO A RESIDENCE (Kars Twp., ON) – A residence was entered in the 1900 block of Mission Road. The break in occurred between the 20 th and 22 nd of May 2012. Entry was gained through the side entrance door.

Entry was gained through the side entrance door.

Culprit(s) stole a knee length muskrat fur coat, several bottles of wine and liquor, jewellery, and a suitcase.

Animal Collision

(Fenwick Twp., ON) -   At approximately 11:00 pm yesterday evening OPP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 north.

A pick up truck collided with a moose on the roadway.

The driver was not injured.

The vehicle received extensive front end damage and had to be towed.

TWO FIRES REPORTED

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON)Two fires have been investigated by Sault Ste. Marie OPP in the past two days.

One occurred on May 22nd, 2012 at approximately 11:00 pm on Old Garden River Road on the Batchewana First Nation.

A vehicle being driven on private property caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames.

The Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire.

There is no further investigation.

(Aweres Twp., ON)  On May 23, 2012 at approximately 6:00 am the Aweres Fire Department and OPP were called to a grass fire in a bush area on Maki Lake Road in Aweres Township.

Upon the Fire Department’s arrival several males were observed running from the area.

It appears the fire was caused by those involved burning the casing off of a piece of copper wire.

The fire was extinguished.

The investigation is continuing.
