Sault Ste Marie OPP recovered two stolen vehicles yesterday and have charged two young offenders in one of the cases.

Yesterday at about 11:30 a.m. a Ministry of Transportation Inspector noticed that a vehicle traveling west on Hwy 17 in the Echo Bay area was weaving all over the roadway. It was determined that the car was stolen from Montreal, Quebec.

With the assistance of Batchawana First Nation Police, Anishinabek Police Service and the OPP, the vehicle was pulled over without incident. Four people were taken into custody but only two were held and charged with stealing the car.

Two young offenders will appear in bail court this afternoon to answer to the charges.

In the second incident, Sault Ste Marie OPP were called to a gravel pit in Echo Bay after receiving a report of a burned out vehicle in the pit. The vehicle was stolen from the City of Sault Ste Marie the night before. No arrests have been made in this incident.
