Location: Hwy 631, 50 km south of Hornepayne

Detachment area: Wawa

Time of road closure: 10:30 a.m.

Reason for the closure: single Tractor Trailer rollover

Detour: none

THEFT OF ARTICLES LEADS TO CHARGES

(WHITE RIVER) – On June 1, 2009 The OPP received a report of a theft of articles from a motel in Marathon, Ontario. Police were requested to keep observation for a vehicle and two occupants who had left the area around 3 p.m. At approximately 5 pm officers had occasion to stop a vehicle for speeding just north of White River which matched the vehicle in question. Investigation revealed that articles reported stolen in Marathon were in the vehicle. As a result of further investigation, Daniel BECK age 25 of BURLINGTON, Ontario stands charged with:
1. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada;
2. Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada;
3. Speeding contrary toThe Ontario Highway Traffic Act;
4. Drive Motor Vehicle – No Driver’s Licence contrary to The Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Natashia SIENNA age 20 of STONEY CREEK, Ontario stands charged with:
1. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to The Criminal Code of Canada;
2. Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to The Criminal Code of Canada;
3. Permit Un-Licenced person to drive Motor Vehicle contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
Both subjects are scheduled to appear at Wawa Criminal Court on August 10, 2009 to answer to the charges.

R.I.D.E – Five Hundred vehicle checks were conducted as a result of several RIDE checks throughout the Superior East patrol area during this period.
