VEHICLE FIRE IN GOULAIS RIVER (Batchewana First Nation, Ont.) On Wednesday, 11th June 2008 members of the Goulais River Fire Department and Batchewana First Nation Police were called to a vehicle fire in the 2000 block of Goulais Mission Road.

(Batchewana First Nation, Ont.) On Wednesday, 11th June 2008 members of the Goulais River Fire Department and Batchewana First Nation Police were called to a vehicle fire in the 2000 block of Goulais Mission
Road.

A Ford Aerostar Mini van parked at a residence was completely destroyed by fire. No one was injured.

The investigation is continuing.

THEIVES ARE AT IT AGAIN

(Fenwick Twp., Ont.) Sometime between Sunday, 8th June and yesterday morning a camp and an adjacent shed in the 1000 block of Bluewater Road in Goulais River were entered and several items stolen.

Stolen items from the shed include the following; two red craftsman toolboxes with assorted tools, a craftsman skill saw, cordless drill and a hammer drill with attachments, two Stihl chainsaws, two red Shwinn mountain bikes, a Polaris 400 4x4 Sportsman 4 wheeler and a Honda 3500 watt generator.

Culprits entered the main camp by prying the front door. Stolen items in the main camp included liquor and several pieces of electronics including two Garmin E-trex GPS systems and a telescope.

A double wide snowmobile trailer parked in the yard was also removed.

THEIVES SCARED OFF BY ALARM

(Aweres Twp., Ont.) At approximately 11:56 A.M. on Wednesday morning OPP were dispatched to an alarm at a residence on Caples Road in Aweres Township.

Upon Police arrival it was observed that the front door to the residence had been forced open and the patio glass door had been smashed with a large rock.

Two suspects were observed by neighbors fleeing on two small red ATV’s. Both suspects were described wearing moto cross clothing and dirt bike helmets.

The OPP are continuing their investigation.

BEWARE OF WILDLIFE

(Herrick Twp., Ont.) A tractor trailer driver was not injured when a moose ran out in front of his vehicle on Highway 17 near Agawa Bay yesterday evening around 11:00 p.m.

There was minor damage to the front end of the tractor trailer unit and the moose ran off into the bush.
