On Thursday, July 03, 2014 at 12:01 p.m., Sault Ste Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Anishinabek Police Service (APS) responded to a report of an overturned vehicle in the west side ditch of Hwy 17, just north of Hwy 552 in Goulais River, Ontario. Initial investigation revealed a southbound vehicle pulled out to pass another vehicle. While in the passing lane the driver lost control and the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over. One occupant was ejected. This occupant has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries. One other occupant received minor injuries and the driver was not injured. This incident is under investigation and OPP Technical Traffic Investigators are currently on the scene. Two of the four lanes on Hwy 17 are closed. Two lanes for north and southbound traffic are still open.
