PLAY STATION 3 STOLEN (Elliot Lake, Ont.) OPP is currently investigating a break and enter report in the area of Frame Crescent. Investigation revealed that on January 31, 2008 between 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
PLAY STATION 3 STOLEN

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) OPP is currently investigating a break and enter report in the area of Frame Crescent.

Investigation revealed that on January 31, 2008 between 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. unknown person(s) entered the residence through a window while the residents were in another area of the home. Taken during the break and enter is a Play Station 3.

Anyone with information regarding the above break enter and theft is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-705-942-7867 Or 1-800-222-8477.

Investigation continuing.

OPP & S.T.O.P. ON PATROL

(Elliot Lake, Ont.) The OPP and S.T.O.P. officers will be patrolling the trails this weekend. Ensure that you carry with you, your driver’s licence, proof of insurance and ownership of your snowmachine. When traveling on any OFSC trails, a valid trail permit is required.

Remember that the drinking and driving laws and penalties are the same for snowmachines, as it is for your automobile.

Road Closure Update

The Ontario Provincial Police advise the public of the following road closure.

Location: Hwy 11 (between Kapuskasing and Matheson)
Hwy 655 (Timmins)
Hwy 17 North – Hwy 556 (Heyden) to Wawa

Detachment area: numerous

Time of road closure: 30 Jan 08

Reason for the closure: Poor weather conditions. Please use caution once roads open as weather conditions vary.

Estimated duration of closure: Conditions are being evaluated continuously.

Time road reopened:
- As of 11:00 p.m., Hwy 17 from Sault Ste Marie to Sudbury is completely re opened.
- Hwy 129 (Thessalon to Chapleau) OPEN at 8:30pm 30 Jan 08
- Hwy 17 from Sault Ste Marie to Bruce Mines OPEN at 6:35pm 30 Jan08

PLOW, GRADER, AND THREE OTHERS TOWED

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) Ontario Provincial Police responded to 5 vehicles in the ditch during and after yesterday’s massive snow storm.

On Highway 556 near Northland Lake a grader plowing the road ended up in the ditch early yesterday afternoon. A tow truck was called to get the grader out and the driver was not injured.

On Highway 17 East near Echo Bay a snow plow went in the ditch due to zero visibility. Again, a tow truck had to be called out. There were no injuries.

Three more vehicles in the Echo Bay area ended up in snow banks. Fortunately no one was injured. Police did not allow these vehicles to be removed until the storm had ended and visibility improved.
