On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 2:53 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Hwy 556, Ranger Lake Road involving a motorized snow machine and a motor vehicle.
OPP officers along with Searchmont First Response attended the scene. The driver of the snow machine was transported to the hospital by air ambulance where he died as a result of his injuries.
The name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The investigation is being conducted by an OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigator.
