GOULAIS RIVER WOMAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT

Goulais River, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP have charged a Goulais River woman with assaulting her common law spouse.

Yesterday at about 7:00 p.m. officers with the Sault Ste Marie OPP detachment attended a residence on Hwy 552 in Goulais River. As a result of this investigation officers have charged a forty one year old woman with one count of assault. The victim, a sixty (60) year old man, had noticeable facial injuries but refused medical treatment.

The accused was released from custody with conditions not to associate with the victim. The accused will appear in court on Wed 14 February 2007.
