SNOWMOBILERS – TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING (Echo Bay, Ont.,) On Tuesday, the 26th February 2008 at approximately 4:30 pm the O.P.P. in Sault Ste. Marie received a call from concerned family members of 39 year old Kevin BODNARCHUK of Echo Bay.
SNOWMOBILERS – TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING

(Echo Bay, Ont.,) On Tuesday, the 26th February 2008 at approximately 4:30 pm the O.P.P. in Sault Ste. Marie received a call from concerned family members of 39 year old Kevin BODNARCHUK of Echo Bay. No family members had any contact with him since Saturday evening. A Police check of his residence revealed that his vehicle was not at his residence.

On Wednesday the 27th February 2008 the OPP received a call from Mr. BODNARCHUK at 1:00 pm indicating that he had gone fishing on his snow machine and it broke down on a trail north of Desbarats. He spent two nights in the bush in his portable ice fishing hut. He used his propane heater for heat and made a fire after his heater ran out. He had his dog with him also.
He had not told anyone where he was going.

The OPP would like to remind snowmobiler's to always inform someone of your destination. Include where you are going, the route, a description of your snowmobile and your expected time of return.

Always be prepared for the unexpected. Be smart. Ride Safe.

UPDATE: 25 YEAR OLD MAN DIES IN WORK RELATED ACCIDENT

(Chapleau, Ontario) Superior East OPP and the Ministry of Labour are continuing their investigation into the death of 25 year old, Paul MICHAUD of Timmins.
The deceased was employed by Premier Recycling of Timmins. The company was working outside on the property of Northern Haul Company of Chapleau. They were moving a metal truck box with a front end loader when the box tipped over onto the victim who was standing beside the box. Northeast Region OPP Ident and TTCI units assisted Superior East OPP and Ministry of Labour with the investigation. A post mortem was held yesterday in Sault Ste Marie. The Ministry of Labour is continuing their investigation and will have further information upon completion of their investigation.
