NOT TOO BAD CONSIDERING THE WEATHER WE'VE BEEN HAVING
Sault Ste Marie, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP investigated seven collisions in the past 24 hours. All were of a minor nature and no one was injured. The freezing rain this area has been experiencing was a factor in all seven collisions.

The first collision was reported to Sault Ste Marie OPP at about 2:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon and the last was at 8:00 last night.

The only problem roadway in the Sault Ste Marie OPP area is Hwy 556 (Ranger Lake Road). This is closed from the intersection of Hwy 532 through to Hwy 129.

Hwy 556 is open to Searchmont Ski Resort and the Village of Searchmont.

Police and the men and woman of our Regional Operation Center, are asking the public NOT to call the OPP for highway conditions. Please call the Ministry of Transportation Highway Information Line at 945-5924 or toll free at 1-800-340-2454
