WAWA OPP ARREST MALE FOR MULTIPLE THEFTS
(WAWA, ON) On December 15th, 2011 the Superior East Wawa OPP Detachment were dispatched to a theft of gas from a gas station on Mission Road in Wawa. A vehicle fitting the description of a large red van was located north bound on Highway 17 near Obatanga Provincial Park. A short pursuit ensued and a spike belt was deployed resulting in the van stopping safely. An Edward Jeanveau, 28 years-of-age of London, Ontario was arrested and is currently in police custody.
OPP investigation into this matter is continuing at this time. The accused has been linked to a break and enter that was reported this morning at Agawa River bridge. A construction trailer had been entered overnight and numerous items were taken.
The accused will be taken to Sault Ste Marie for a bail court hearing. The extent of the charges against him has yet to be determined.
