Teen faces careless driving charge in Hwy. 69 collision

The driver of a vehicle involved in a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 69 July 2 received serious, life-altering injuries, according to provincial police.

An 18-year-old from Sudbury has been charged with careless driving after a July 2 crash on Highway 69 in the Estaire area.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m. that day, the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Fire Service and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

The driver of the vehicle received serious life-altering injuries, while the passenger had minor injuries. Both were transported to the area hospital by EMS.

The northbound lanes were closed for just over nine hours during the investigation and the removal of the vehicle.
